What I have seen from the brutal dog meat industry will haunt me forever.
I will spare you the horrific photos captured from dog meat slaughterhouses, because I know you wouldn’t want to see what I have seen in my research.
I have learned all about this cruel and despicable industry, so you don’t have to.
As the Digital Fundraising Officer of FOUR PAWS USA, I was horrified to learn that an estimated 1,000,000 dogs are stolen, transported and brutally slaughtered annually for human consumption in Indonesia.
Dogs are violently stolen from the streets, homes or bred on dog farms and transported, sometimes hundreds of miles, crammed together in small wire cages often dying before reaching their appalling end.
At the slaughterhouses, dogs watch in sheer terror as other dogs are beaten, skinned or boiled alive in front of them. Some believe that dog meat is better if the adrenaline hormone is released in the animal while they are killed.
FOUR PAWS is a member of the ground-breaking cooperation with some of the largest animal welfare organizations in the world, Dog Meat Free Indonesia Coalition, to end the dog meat trade. Together, we are calling on the Indonesian government to ban the trade and slaughter of dogs for human consumption.
